Join us at the Maryland Youth Justice Coalition rally in Annapolis to demand that Governor Moore veto HB 814.
Maryland needs Governor Moore to veto HB 814, for our kids and our communities. If allowed to go into effect, the consequences for kids, especially kids of color, will be real and harsh.
Instead of investing in services that support families and guide young people to make better choices, HB 814 will expand the net of supervision and incarceration. It will subject very young children to the juvenile justice system and give prosecutors too much unchecked discretion over the lives of our young people.
HB 814 passed the House and Senate, but Governor Moore can still veto the bill and ensure that Maryland focused on solutions that actually make our communities safer and don't harm vulnerable kids. Let's rally together and demand that the governor veto HB 814 and show support for real youth justice reform like the YES Act!
ANOTHER WAY TO GET INVOLVED
We need you to call on Governor Wes Moore to veto HB 814 for our children and our communities. This bill is a flawed reaction that would lock up children as young as 10-12 years old. Maryland should be led by facts, not fear.
