Keianna Thompson is originally from New Jersey and attended Morgan State University on a full academic scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance. She later earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix. For more than 20 years she has worked in the accounting field in a variety of industries including gas/oil, disaster relief, employment staffing, pharmaceutical and civil rights.
Keianna currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Family League of Baltimore City, where she is responsible for the financial reporting of a $24M budget and managing the Finance & Operations Teams. Her prior work experience includes a 15-year tenure at the NAACP National Headquarters in Baltimore, MD, where she worked through the ranks of the Finance Department to become their Deputy Controller. She prides herself on ensuring the professional growth of her staff via cross-training and peer management.
Keianna is a lifetime member of the NAACP and serves as a pro-bono consultant for small organizations. Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting, and grant management. She enjoys spending time with family and baking.
Her philosophy is that if nothing is ventured, nothing is gained.
