LGBT Rights

The ACLU of Maryland is dedicated to making our state a place where LGBT people can live openly, where their identities, relationships and families are respected and where there is fair treatment on the job and in schools, housing, public places, health care, and government programs. The ACLU filed a lawsuit seeking marriage licenses for same-sex couples in Maryland, and ever since we have strongly advocated in the courts, in the legislature, and in communities for the freedom to marry.
