In a statewide effort to educate voters about their rights and solve problems at the polls, the ACLU of Maryland has launched our 2014 Election Protection Campaign. As the group has done for the last five statewide and presidential elections, the ACLU will hold a hotline (1-888-496-ACLU) for Maryland voters for the Primary (June 24) and General Election Day (November 4). In addition, the ACLU is offering Maryland Voter Empowerment Cards in English and Spanish.
"The ACLU seeks to protect every Maryland voter from misinformation and intimidation at all stages of our electoral process and help with problems that arise on Election Day," said Amy Cruice, ACLU of Maryland's Election Protection Campaign Director. "We educate voters and identify systemic issues that may infringe on Marylanders' right to vote. And on Election Day, voters can call our Election Protection hotline to ask any question they may have about voting and get immediate help."
The ACLU of Maryland Election Protection hotline (1-888-496-ACLU) is operated by trained staff and volunteers, who assist voters experiencing problems and investigate complaints at the polls.
